Andy Ferguson

Andy’s career started in Liverpool, working as a management trainee for the timber importer W.F.Hollway. In 1980 he headed south to further his sales career in the merchant sector working for Carlton Timber - an up and coming business in London. His primary market was selling into the construction industry and he soon became Sales Manager.

In 1986 he then grasped the opportunity to build his own business, and over nearly 30 years built the highly regarded Beaumont Forest Products – a merchant with three strong outlets around the M25 servicing London and the Home Counties.

Always an innovator, Andy was at the forefront of planed regularised timber, Tru-Stud and other timber products that are now part and parcel of what the industry uses today. He described Beaumont as the John Lewis of the timber trade – no higher comparison could be sought!

In 2014 Beaumont was acquired by the Grafton Group and Andy is now the Forest Products Director for Buildbase. His aim is to build a strong timber brand within the national merchant business of Buildbase.

In 2014 Andy joined the board of TRADA and is committed to representing the merchant sector by playing an important part in what is the “go to” place for timber advice.
