Chiltern Dynamics' technical coordinater Barry Cope, comments on why timber frame walls can offer excellent acoustic test results.
Based on Chiltern Dynamics' sound insulation test results last year, timber frame party walls are exceeding Approved Document E requirements more than 95% of the time, while nine out of ten timber frame walls achieved more than 50 dB Dntw+Ctr, 5 dB better than legislation requires. This can be used to gain valuable Code for Sustainable Homes credits.
