This publication explains what cold bridging is, how to calculate the ψ-Value and how to demonstrate compliance when using the standard details with rigid foam insulation.

 

The standard details are of an enhanced design that will assist compliance with the 2010 revision of Approved Document L for England and Wales. The enhancements include:

  • 50mm deep insulated service void created by fixing battens to the inside face of the 140mm deep studs in external walls
  • improved insulation in party walls.
